Affiliate disclosure

How affiliate links work on this site, which partners we work with, and how that does (and doesn't) affect what you see.

The short version

Some pages on Image-Compressor.uk include affiliate links. If you click one and end up paying for a product or service, the partner pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only feature partners whose product is relevant to the page you're on. Affiliate links are marked inline next to the link itself, and every affiliate link uses rel="sponsored" so search engines can identify them.

How affiliate links affect what we recommend

They don't. Every tool, comparison, and recommendation on this site is based on what is genuinely useful to the reader on a given page. The tool pages would carry the same information with or without an affiliate relationship behind a particular partner — the affiliate deal funds the site, it doesn't shape the editorial. If a partner stops being relevant, we drop the placement; if a better option appears, we'd switch.

Affiliate income is one part of how the site pays for itself (alongside display advertising). We don't accept paid placements that aren't disclosed as affiliate links, and we don't accept payment for favourable wording or rankings on our tool pages or guides.

Active affiliate partners

Today, the site has two active affiliate relationships:

ParentShield

Crazy Egg

  • What they do: Heatmaps, scroll maps, session recordings and A/B testing to show what your visitors actually do on your site.
  • Where the link appears: on eight pages where the audience is website owners doing performance or conversion work: the website image optimiser, the image format guide, the WebP guide, WebP vs JPG, compress for websites, compress for Shopify, and two blog posts on Core Web Vitals and website speed.
  • Affiliate network: Crazy Egg direct partner programme.
  • Their site: we don't publish a non-affiliate direct URL for Crazy Egg. If you'd rather not use our affiliate link, search "Crazy Egg" and click their listing — we don't earn a commission on organic traffic.

How we track which placements work

Each affiliate link includes a per-page tracking code (an Awin clickref) so we can see which pages drove which clicks. We never share personal data with our affiliate partners — the tracking code is the page slug only, not anything about you. If you choose to sign up with a partner, what you share with that partner is governed by the partner's own privacy policy, not ours.

How to read affiliate links on this site

  • Every affiliate link is accompanied by an inline disclosure ("Affiliate link — we may earn a commission if you sign up") next to the link.
  • The link itself opens in a new tab and carries rel="sponsored noopener".
  • If you'd rather visit the partner without going through the affiliate link, the disclosure section above always includes a non-affiliate direct URL.
